AICE Media Studies AS- La Rosa, D

  Today marks the  end line  for the portfolio project. I have been working on it for the past couple days in my free  time fixing  any mistakes that were pointed out from my peers, and I plan on doing so until I feel confident that it is as good as it can be  with my capabilities.  I have had a lot of fun so far especially with messing with the pictures and the typography, which at times distracted me from doing the actual work needed, but nevertheless, I am done with the project and re ady to move on to whatever next quarter holds. I must point out that the time used reviewing the project too k   as long as  making it, which surprised me, but made me proud of my work.  

  This weekend I have gotten my magazine peer reviewed by my dear friend Nicola Piras, who has graduated just last year and is magician with the computer, and Alahna Palacios, who had also been working on a  magazine project. They both helped a lot and had lots of  inputs  as to where I could make  corrections  or make the piece better, so I will be working on editing until Friday, so I can turn in the best version of my project. I look forward to completing this along with the week as it has bee n full of midterm exams already; this also means my schedule will me crumbled as I have sports outside of school, but I am confident. With the end ing so close, I sincerely hope we have a project like this one next semester as well, as I had a lot of fun with the class and the teacher.  

Blog Post 6 (1-14-2021)   I finally completed my typography, and so  far  it was the most challenging part of this project. By the looks of it, the fitting and style matches what I  had hoped it would look like, so I am  definitely satisfied  with the work. I am not that handy with technology, so I had to really put effort into completing this part of the project, but I must say that thanks to the  help of some peers, it did not come along all too bad. Next time I stumble across a project such as this one, I will  definitely be  more prepared and straightforward as now I know the mechanics and tricks. Ne x t w eek I will get the magazine peer reviewed  and fix any mistakes so that it can be ready to be turned in on time. I have no doubt in my mind that I will succeed in this.  

Blog Post 5 (1-12-2021)   As of today, I have completed and imported by feature article into the magazine as well as the pictures. I will be working in the next couple of days to complete the typography so that it fits my  theme and tone. I am very happy with how the  project is coming along, although I had some trouble with the organizing of the pictures and pages; it was not so much with the size but more of the stretching out of the pictures as I made them  fit my desired spaces.   The feature article also looks good in the magazine with the way it fits into the piece, and with the  overall matching style of it. By the end of this  week  I will have completed my project, and all I will need to do is add some finishing touches, as I want it to look the best it can.  

Blogpost 4 (1-7-2021)  As of today, all my pictures have been imported to InDesign, where I will edit them and work around them to construct my final product; I took inspiration from  pictures on the internet that would best suit what I had previously suggested, and it came along  pretty well . Along with this, I will be working  on my feature article, which will  probably be  during the weekend. I have all the information and subjects I need to complete this project  at the moment , and I am honestly having the most fun I have had in a while working on something school, related. I must say that the feature art icle and the pictures struggle to really get along together, but they do  work   and they will add to the piece  as a whole for  sure.   

Blogpost 3 (1-5-2021)  During the break I have taken the pictures for my magazines as well as information I needed from the interviews with Gianni and Peppe. I must say I had  lots of fun taking the pictures especially as the cooks and waiters would often play around with me to make me feel more in my comfort zone.  I will be uploading these pictures  in InDesign tomorrow so that I can start getting ready for putting together the portfolio project.  I am also working on picking quotes to use in the feature article, that match my theme and tone, but not so much the style as I hope to “spice it up” with them.  I will be looking specifically at what both Peppe and Gianni said about introducing and maintaining the main values of our traditional Italian culture  in not only the dishes, but also the work ethics transmitted to the workers and the place itself. I  am  only  conflicted as to  whether  I should include their backstory...
